Cocobeach
Cocobeach Avepozo
The idyllic Cocobeach opposite Atlantic Lodge with its white sand is reminiscent of beaches in the Caribbean.
At the beach you can relax under whispering palmtrees, feel the cool breeze from the ocean, go swimming or have a cold drink and enjoy the calm atmosphere at sunset. You can have a delicious candle light dinner of fresh lobster caught by local fisherman if you order a day in advance. Most Sundays different Togolese groups are celebrating events / parties at the beach. You are sure to hear traditional drums, pop, reggae or African music, see people dancing, masquerades on stilts and acrobatic performances. The mood is Carnivalesque.
Avepozo and Baguida
There are beach bars and restaurants, bush bars, local discos, eateries, bakeries, shops and a bank scattered around the Avepozo and Baguida area.
Edits beach bar
You can have a drink under huge old trees at the Monument in Baguida, enjoy rasta music at Edits beach bar or watch live football matches at Red Star bush bar in Kanikope, owned by Christian and Nadia, a German / Togolese couple.

“Chez Alice”
The most famous place in Avepozo is „Chez Alice“. The old Swiss girl, Alice, came to Togo forty years ago. She is an animal lover and owns several pets including monkeys and a parrot. Europeans living in Togo, adventurers, Sahara route drivers, backpackers, and locals meet at the round table in her thatched open assembly hall. She has free wireless internet for her guests. During busy tourist seasons there is traditional dancing, tam tam music and performance in „Chez Alice“. You can enjoy the show while having Swiss Fondue.
